Albus Cavus: Can you describe yours and Wallnuts timeline?
Demer: Around 2001, right after 9-11 I got back into graff seriously
again. My old painting partner Riot introduced me to Muse and Phyme.
We started hanging out and painting together and the rest is history.
AC: Your production walls appeared all over. At that time it was
something unusual for most of the areas you guys were working at. How
did you handle that?
D: We loved it... The more it got people talking, the more it pushed us not only to do the walls but to start exploring other ventures and take chances with things we were doing and still are planning to do...
AC: Where are the Wallnuts now?
D: We're still here... All doing our thing. We took some time off from
the big production walls to pursue side projects, like my store
Graffiti Comix, TurnStyle Magazine, which is an urban art and
lifestyle mag. I'm producing it with Been3. It all still falls
under the Wallnuts umbrella. We will be returning to do big production
walls this summer. So watch out, the monsters of graff are back!
AC: How is business going?
D: Graffiti Comix is thriving. It's doing very well and couldn't be
happier. I am currently exploring the possibilities of opening stores
in Atlanta and Baltimore.
AC: Is that your dream job?
D: For sure. I'm my own boss and every day I deal with my two
passions: comic books and graff.
AC: How are these two related?
D: I know some writers say they got inspiration from comics. I never got that. To me they've always been two separate things I loved and now I have the chance to combine both to make a living!
AC: You are also into tattoos. Your own designs?
D: I've designed some. Personally, I have only one - the star on my elbow which a lot of the Wallnuts have. I want to get more. However, I respect tattoo artists big time.
AC: What do you do when you don't paint?
D: I collect comics and toys. And when I don't paint I work on my
sketches. I plan to take over the world too. The world domination is
the Wallnuts' ultimate goal.
AC: How will that world look like?
D: Bright... Colors... Walls for days... Trains painted and people just having fun. That's what this is all about for me. I am not looking to be rich. If I was I wouldn't be doing this stuff. As long as I can pay bills. I have a few dollars in my pocket and I am not stressed in the nine-to-five world world anymore. I'm good!
AC: Canvas or wall?
D: I always prefer walls first, but canvas is cool.
AC: NY or NJ?
D: Anywhere I can paint. Mars if need be.
AC: Anything you would like to add?
D: I'd like to thanks Albus Cavus for including me in this collection
of awesome street artists. I don't consider myself an artist in any
form. I'm a graffiti writer. Also some shotouts: of course the
